First Day of Summer
If you are in the northern hemisphere, happy first day of summer! Today is also the summer solstice when the Earth’s north pole is at maximum tilt toward the Sun, resulting in the longest day and shortest night of the year for the northern hemisphere. This year, the exact moment is Friday, June 20th at 7:42 p.m. Pacific Time. This cosmic event signals abundance, warmth, the peak of light, and a new beginning.
The beginning of summer doesn’t come to us quietly or cautiously. Instead, summer begins with the longest stretch of sunlight, inviting us to do more, dive deeper, explore farther, connect with old friends, and make new ones. As summer progresses, the longest stretch of daylight slowly wanes, and the days get shorter and shorter until we reach the winter solstice.
Summer is bright but also fleeting. So, on every summer solstice, I imagine the last day of summer and what will be the headlines and highlights of my summer. Then, with the extra light, I work forward to make them a reality.
What will this summer hold for you? Have a great weekend, and come back on Monday to make your highlights of summer a reality.
